Memphis, Tenn. to Madison, Wisc. and anywhere in between

I use simple, effective design rooted in direct-response best practices—because, let’s be real, we’re in it to get results. Tired of designers who need hand-holding? Or maybe your old materials just aren’t cutting it anymore.

Whether you're starting fresh or scaling big, I make branding your business feel easy—and fun!

“[I recommend Sam] whenever I can because she can take a few conversations, ideas, and input and produce exactly what we were thinking and what we need, but usually with a bit more. It's almost difficult to put into words because sometimes… it feels like magic.”

  • People gathered inside a large tent with long tables decorated with flowers, for a celebration or event.

  • Signboard with mountain, trees, sun illustration and the text "Hugt t Hug" on a wall surrounded by green foliage

  • Hands organizing custom-designed wedding invitations and related cards on a white surface.

  • Framed map of Madison, Wisconsin with brochures and event essentials on display.

  • A person sitting at a wooden table using a laptop and a smartphone with a landscape background. The laptop screen displays an event page titled '#ForeAcure' related to construction and leukemia society, with a registration button, and the smartphone shows a form for team information.

  • Decorative stationery on a wooden desk, including calendars, notebooks, thank you cards, and accent vases, with a floral mural in the background.

  • Two people standing outside a large white event tent with wooden beams, looking at promotional posters on a wooden display. Inside the tent, there are tables with floral tablecloths and chairs, and a few people walking around.

  • A large red banner with the text "Picnic in the Park" at an event benefiting the Madison Parks Foundation. The banner is inside a white tent, with a few chairs and potted plants visible nearby.

Simple wins

After almost 20 years of building brands, this lesson continues to ring true: simple wins. Does that mean it will be boring? No way. Plain? Absolutely not. Finding smart, simple solutions to effectively and emotionally communicate messy ideas is hard work.

Lucky for you, it’s what I love.

To-dos you actually want to do

Just because the work is hard and messy doesn’t mean the process has to be. I’ve guided countless clients, from mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies, through this process and have put in the work to make it as — wait for it — simple as possible for you.

The Circle Member logo indicates this person is a preferred vendor for building Squarespace websites. The logo features a large blue circle surrounding the Squarespace logo and reads "Circle Member."

Where you been?

Sam Sullivan, a Wisconsin-based logo, graphics, and website designer, sits cross-legged on a white ottoman, smiling in a bright room with green houseplants and a window.

I have been passionate about brand building by companies for as long as I can remember. Growing up in an advertising agency has a way of doing that to you. I used to cut out ads from my mother's Vogue magazines every month and sort them by brands, trends, and things I liked or didn't like — those were the simple days of life before Pinterest and the internet. Even now, while juggling raising two young kids, cycling, and spending as much time outdoors as possible, I still somehow find time to search through magazines, Instagram, and, of course, Pinterest for simple, brilliant designs.
